Friday Photo #1
I chose this photo because a photograph of the beach seems
like it would only be beautiful in colour. That way you are able to see the
blues of the sky and the water, or the oranges and yellows of the sun. I liked how even though this photo is taken
in black and white, it’s still a stunning picture. This was taken on the Azores Islands in
Portugal and the photographer is Maciek. He used a Nikon D80 with an aperture
of f/18 and a focal point of 28mm. The photo was taken on January 27, 2010 at
6:45pm.
Friday Photo #2
I took this photo at the front of the school so the sun would be shining directly on Amanda. I wanted to have a nice background, so I made sure to get the trees and show how she was standing up higher than everything else. When I photoshopped the picture I took out most of the colour so it was almost black and white and then contrasted everything. I really like the effect that it gives, especially the way the camera is tilted.
Friday Photo #3
I took this photo from a lower angle, so my camera was actually aimed up at the objects. I decided to put it in a gotham effect, and then heighten the contrast and brightness levels. I think by doing this I achieved a creepy effect.
Friday Photo #4
I chose to use spilled smarties for my Friday photo because I really liked the way the brightly coloured candy pops out of the black background. Instead of using a lot of photoshop effects I decided to just brighten the colours a little bit more, and then turn the contrast up higher. I didn't want to overdo anything because I really enjoy how just a simple effect can really brighten an entire photo.
Friday Photo #5
For this weeks Friday Photo we were to take a picture of opposites. I chose to use a gloved hand being held up beside an ungloved hand. I chose the glow outline effect to emphasize each hand. I really liked the way that it makes the gloved hand pop out. Your eyes are drawn to it right away. I also really loved how the outline of every object in the photograph is accentuated.
Friday Photo #6
The Friday Photo this week was to get a photograph of a glimpse. I chose to take a picture glimpsing through the rails of the stairs in the hub. I placed a Starbucks cup there so there would be a point in the picture that you automatically focused in on. My favourite part of this photograph is how the image is very clear near the front of the picture, but slowly blurs into the background.
Friday Photo #7
This weeks Friday Photo was to take a photograph that tells a story. I chose to show how bullying can really affect the lives of teenagers. I think this is an important issue, so I thought it was necessary to take a photograph that shows the emotions that so many teens feel each day.
Friday Photo #8
For the Friday Photo this week we were to take a picture of comfort food. I think everyone has a lot of different opinions on what comfort food is, that's why I took a picture of a menu instead. I always like to take photographs that aren't completely straight, because I find that it makes them more interesting.
Friday Photo #9
Friday Photo #10
This Friday Photo was signs of the season. I used this photo because not only is there an actual sign that shows it is Christmas there is also snow in the background and winter clothing.
Friday Photo #11
The Friday Photo this week was to take a picture of "waiting". I chose to get a photograph of someone waiting for a bus in the rain. I really liked having the subject standing with an umbrella, because I think this makes it seem like an impatient kind of waiting. I chose Brannan effect on photoshop, which gives the photograph a more dreary feel.
Friday Photo #12
This weeks Friday photo was to take a photograph that "make the heart sing". I decided to take a picture of hair and jewelry because being a girl, it's something that I love. My favourite thing in photographs is being able to edit the colour. So for this particular photograph I did the Earlybird effect.
Friday Photo #13
The assignment this week was to find a photograph of "Disappointment". While I was walking through the school I spotted this half eaten apple sitting on the floor. It looked out of place and sad, so it inspired me to take a photograph. I thought it was rather disappointing, so I chose it for this weeks Friday photo.
The Friday photo this week was to take a photograph of "too much". I decided to take a photograph of an overflowing locker because it's something that is seen everywhere in high school.
